The Code of Conduct

Post  ~Admin~Kestrel~ on Mon Jul 28, 2008 2:49 pm

Here's what you should be doing...

1. Having fun.

2. Trying to contribute to the community. Sitting on the sidelines is only fun for so long and the more we all pitch in the more fun we will all have. We are here so everyone can get involved.

3. Posting new strats and threads. The forum has been made so that these strats can be found in a common place.

4. Before posting a new thread on a subject read existing threads/posts, check the FAQs, and check for similar threads by using the search function.

5. Using subject lines that are descriptive of your post.

6. Meeting new people, and being friendly.

7. Posting only in English. While we understand many people's desire to speak in their native tongues as opposed to English, this unfortunately has to remain an English-only board.

8. Keeping images in your signature image no larger (height and width) than 375x125 pixels. This is to ensure that pages load more quickly even on low tier internet connections

Make sure that you're not doing any of these...

1. Posting offensive or derogatory comments, including those of a racial, religious, or sexual nature. This includes your username, signature line, and title.

2. Posting pictures or links to images which contain pornography, nudity, animal cruelty, racism, or sexism. Images of violence which are extreme will be removed and may result in a warning or worse.

3. Posting comments or links in support of illegal activities including, but not limited to, threats against the life of any living person, theft, arson, poking small animals, and piracy.

4. Trying to obtain or posting someone else's personal contact information is prohibited. Examples are home phone numbers, home addresses, and any unpublished e-mail addresses.

5. Repeatedly attacking or insulting a person in an effort to get a negative response. You have a right to disagree, but do so in a respectful manner.

6. Posting topics or discussions with the desire to do the site or community harm. More specifically creating topics meant to disrupt the site's day to day management, disrupt member's resources, or disrupt the ability for the site to function normally.

7. Posting repeat topics with similar or slightly varying titles. The "spamming" of the community in this manner results in problems for users and moderation. Multiple topics on important issues or discussions are fine, this only applies to topics which waste resources for no other reason except personal enjoyment or humor.

8. Do not advertise any services or businesses. Any post that contains any sort of advertising will be removed and the person posting it may be banned as well.

9. Do not continually bump or sign posts unless the contribution is important and of relevance. This is similar to spamming.

10. Do not post threads with an all capitals subject line; the thread may be edited/locked/deleted.

11. Please refrain from posting in any language besides English.

12. Posting links to or discussing pirated copy righted material will not be tolerated here. Doing so will result in a instant ban.

13. Discussions / appeals of game bannings should be communicated through email to other people, not me or anyone else on the forums. This site is in no way official, and does not have any power over such matters

As this has been indicated from the home page as important, no-one who breaks the CoC will be treated as if they did not read it.

About Moderation
1. I reserve the right to edit any post or site content and to remove your ability to modify them in the future.

2. Threads older than 6 months will be purged regularly, unless they are significant, in which case they will have been stickied beforehand.

3. Yes, this is slightly different from the CoC from Age Comm lol!
