Japanese Quick Strat- Sourced from Gamereplays- TAD Patch 1.01

This is one of my favorite strats of all time. It is just really fun to use Japans advantages.

PLEASE see the Early Eco VOD done by MrMilo on rtsproffessionals.com before you try this. You cannot do this strat without that video.

Samurai Rush:

Required Cards:
4 villagers
3 Samurai
5 Ashigaru
5 Yumi
600 wood
600 gold
600 food

Age 1:
2 vils on crates (food crates first), the rest on orchard
As soon as you have 100 food, start building the vils

Send you explorers to look for wood treasures

Build one shrine. All vils should be on food

Send the 2 vil card
When you have 13 vils age up with the LARGE SHRINE. Send one vil forward to build rax.
Continue to build vils as you age

DO NOT SEND A SHIPMENT!!!

While aging:
3 on gold
6 on food
3 on wonder
Send all built vils to gold as they come in
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 200 GOLD BY THE TIME YOU AGE UP. Wood treasures, and maps like carolina and Hispaniola are great for this.

Make sure you explorer has found a good forward base spot for the rax

If you get a second shipment in age 1, save it.

Age 2:

As soon as you age up:

Send the, send the 3 sam card, 5 ashi card
build the barracks with the forward vil, send it to gold

When the barracks is built, build 5 sams

Continue to build vils the whole time. More vils should be on food than gold (10 food - 6 or 7 gold).

When the five sams finish, build 5 ashi. You should have been able to send another shipment, which was 5 ashi. You should have 40 or 50 pop, so you don't need houses.

As soon as the Ashi are done, attack. Use your 5 shipment ashi to attack from the other side, and take out some vils. or they can go with the army, your choice.

It should be about 6:00-6:20 when you do attack.

Head for the rax (that you should have scouted for with your explorer). Take it out fast. This strat is great against boomers, cause they should have just aged up, which means no rax, which means no army!

I like this strat, because If they do fend you off, use the 600 wood, gold and food to: Semi-FF, Shrine Boom, or send a second wave!

I have a question is japs better vs brits or ports?

Instinctively I would have to say Ports, as an early rush will kill these guys if its filled with high siege. However, optimally against Ports, you would FF with all of the Spanish consulate upgrades and Dutch mercentalism from the Church and spam shipments. I managed to get 4 Flaming Arrows and 23 Disciplined Ashigarus at 9 minutes this way, with more to follow.

Japs generally arent a good match up against Brits, longbows slaughter everything but Naginatas when massed (which is very probable early game) in which case Musketeers can handle them reasonably well, as well as Hussars. Theyll also have a better eco than you unless you've been shrine booming. So Ports it is.
