Dutch Skirmisher/Hussar Colonial Strat- Sourced from A414A- Tad Patch 1.00
Dutch Hussar/Skirmisher Colonial Warfare
I have always leaned towards colonial warfare. Much more exciting and much more micro required. A colonial game is always exciting and if you are pushing in colonial, that means you make it that much more difficult for your opponent to go up to the next age, and you should gain the advantage if he attempts to do so. I prefer to keep pressure on my opponent, rather then to let him develop a strategy too long. My gamestyle lately has to been to go hussar first, followed by skirms and then a steady supply of both followed up by pikes to siege down the enemy defenses.
Below are the cards I prefer to have for this build.
Deck :
Age 1 : 3 vills, colonial militia
Age 2 : 700 food, 700 gold, 600 wood, 700 wood, bank wagon, 8 pike,3 hussar, both infantry upgrade cards, religious freedom
Age 3 : 9 ruyter, 8 skirm, 8 halb, 1000 wood, infantry and cav upgrade cards.
Age 4 : both factory cards
The rest are personal preference. fill those cards in as you wish.
-3 vills to gold, rest to crates..
-Que first vill, leave 1 vill on crates, move 1 to gold and the rest to hunt. (4 on gold)
-Build 1 house with a gold vill, then back to gold.
-Send 3 vills card (colbertism is also a viable option)
-Age with 16 vills (400 wood politician)
-10 vills to wood upon clicking up. Once you have 200 wood,
spread the vills out to 2/8/6. (2 forward on food, 8 on gold, 6 on local food)
-Que 2 vills.
-Send 700 gold.
-Build stable forward as soon as your aged.
-Use 2 gold villies to gather 400 wood.
-Build 1 house
-Build a rax forward
-Build another house
-Train 5 hussar (make sure you have enough gold for the 5 hussar before swapping vills off of gold as stated above)
-5 vills on wood/ 8 on food/ 4 on gold (including gathering crates)
-Adjust vills as needed, certain treasures may change the spread slightly.
-Train 5 skirms
-Build a house
-Train 5 skirms
-Send 700 food
-Build a house
-Train 5 hussar
-5 wood vills to gold
-Begin an even spam of skirms/hussar
-700 wood card or 8 pike
The early hussar try to pick off any early enemy light infantry or avoid the enemy and raid hard and fast. Build units depending on your enemy's units. You may need pikes soon, or you may need more huss or skirms. Raid as much as possible and press your skirms/hussar into his forward or base.
If you spot the enemy goin all cav, cancel skirms and go for hussar and pikes. Another alternative is to go an early foundry isntead of a barracks and use grenadiers/hussar. This works very well when you dont expect your opponent to stay in age2 and fight and need some heavy siege.
If the game continues longer, slowly add banks while you continue to keep a military production. Do not stop and boom with 4 straight banks, keep the pressure up while getting those banks. This allows for your eco to outgrow his.

I sort of already had a strategy going kinda like this one and this helped me with a few things to tweak it, thanks lots for that!
and oh boy do i love microing..especially against Ottos, it makes combat in the games so much more fun.
i have a couple questions though:
-what civs is this reccomended against
-what civs is it a no no against?
Thanks!

i've kinda had a bit of a problem with this strat, well i'm level 20 rank so i go against people in that region and i feel that i'm not that good at this level but this strategy ends up taking too long because if i go against ottos or somthing they are at my base with lots of jans and hussars that i can't handle, just wondering how i counter or something.
